One of the most exciting bikepacking / fast touring bikes coming to market in 2021.
Første sykkelen i verden med et helintegrert oppsett for bikepacking. Null stropper, lynrask sykkel, lav pris.
With bags that fit F/AR’s frame geometry perfectly, this is a cleverly designed complete system for bike packing.
Well-suited for everything from long weekend rides to long-distance racing where endurance is key.
The ultra-sleek frame and bag integration is a clever concept that we’ve yet to see executed quite like this elsewhere.
Total Integration for BikePacking
A good bikepacking set-up should be looked at as a complete system.
From the bike to the bags and the gear you carry. We’ve put endless miles on the road and spent countless nights in tents, and know just how important this is.
We teamed up with industry-leading bag makers Roswheel, utilizing their lightweight and waterproof welded technology and paired this with an attachment system by Fidlock allowing us to eliminate the straps all together, yet still allow the bags to be removed quickly and easily. The result is a bag system that will attach and detach easily in seconds and fits perfectly to the F/AR’s frame geometry.
Curved Seat Stays
One of the key features we're introducing with the 2021 F/AR design is the curved, dropped seat-stays.
They provide increased vertical compliance which, together with generous tire widths, result in a supple ride without sacrificing lateral stiffness. This makes the F/AR more comfortable than a traditional racing bike and any adventure possible.
The F/AR is designed to work ideally with 32-35 mm, 700c tires for a fast rolling, comfortable all-surface set-up.
For more grip and protection, you can also mount 35mm low-knob treads like the Panaracer GravelKing Semi-Slick or even a whopping 38 mm slick. We’ve even designed our own fenders with room for 35 mm slicks or even 33 mm studded tires like the Suomi Routa.
In addition to the Integrated Baggage System, the F/AR boasts no fewer than 4 bottle cage mounts as well as triple mounts on the fork legs for added capacity. In addition, Integrated Stealth Fender Mounts front and rear which double as rack light mounts.
The 27.2 mm round seatpost not only increases comfort but also makes sure that a wide variety of seat posts options will work. The “periscope”, external seat-post clamp design is both simple and effective, eliminating slippage and being easy to replace or fix if needed.
The BB386 Press-fit Bottom Bracket standard means all types of crank standards are compatible on the F/AR. In addition, the bike will work with 1x, 2x, mechanical and electronic shifting with no cable-stops or unnecessary holes in the frame.
Integrated Cable Routing
The Token Products innovative S-Box Headset System allows all cabling to enter the frame via the headset, resulting in a clean cockpit area which not only looks great, but makes bag mounting a breeze.
This solution allows free rotation of the bars and allows you to use a wide selection of standard cockpit set-ups.
We also wanted to do away with cable-stops and cable-guides to clean up the design and stop mud and grime from getting into your frame. To solve this we chose full length outer housing from shifter to derailleur (for mechanical shifting). This also eliminates the chance of your cables being exposed to the elements.
Be First In Line!
We are opening up a pre-order channel for the most dedicated members of the Fara Cycling Family, allowing you to be first in line for when the bike starts shipping in August.
The Pre-Order option gives you access to a limited edition Signature Series design and to sweeten the deal, we are including a set of the Integrated Bags and the perfectly fitting Fara Cycling Fenders for every pre-orders placed!
As always, each one of our bikes is built for you at our Workshop in Oslo. Production will start in mid-May and be shipped based on order of the pre-orders received. You will also be given special behind the scenes access to the completion of the bike’s development during these last stages before it ships.
Once your build date is confirmed, you will be given access to the configurator at which time you will be able to finalize your bike’s colour, size and component specifications. At this time the balance of your payment will also be due. We Ship Worldwide.

The Oslo Project:The city of Oslo is Fara Cycling's home and one of its defining features has to be the thousands of square kilometres of pristine forests, called “Marka”, that surround it. Literally within minutes from the downtown core you can leave the city behind and enjoy both quiet country tarmac and remote wilderness gravel roads.
This cycling ecosystem has inspired a new style of riding where normal daily rides combine both asphalt and gravel. The bikepacking opportunities that can be accessed locally are endless and Oslo has a huge commuter movement too.
As it turns out, the ideal bike for all of this is strikingly similar.
We dreamed of a bike that would allow us to access remote areas with a solid construction and stable geometry but still travel fast, covering long distances with ease. It needed to offer plenty of comfort and be practical with multiple attachments for dedicated accessories that we knew worked perfectly.
We wanted to take integration to a whole new level by being the first bike company to develop both the frame and bag designs simultaneously. Drawing on our vast experience, every function on our criteria list was carefully considered, evaluated, then integrated into the design.
Partnering with industry-leading bag makers Roshweel gave us access to some innovative technology and features. To this we applied our own modifications and integrated an attachment system in collaboration with Fidlock, resulting in a bag system that is easy to use, lightweight and incorporates all of the functionality we sought after.
In 2019, we started The Oslo Project to build the ultimate adventure weapon for mixed-surface riding. After 18 months of product development, testing and refining, a complete ground-up rebuild of the F/AR is the result. It combines our extensive experience in the field with the expertise from some of the industry’s leading product developers. The Gen-2 frame design boasts unique features that will make it one the most exciting bikepacking / fast touring bikes on the market in 2021.
